Winter Weather Roundup
I waffled back and forth on whether I should mention the pink elephant in the room, i.e. my four month absence from the blog. I mean, are that many people really reading these meandering thoughts I’m sending out into the blogosphere? Does anyone care? I don’t even think my mom has read every post, which is slightly embarrassing. But then I was visiting family during Thanksgiving and a cousin asked me what was going on with my blog. She had apparently been keeping up with it and was mourning its absence. I stand corrected - at least one person is reading it (thanks, Alkesta!), and that gives me hope.
I won’t go into too much detail about my delinquency, just suffice it to say that the adventure of selling our house has turned into more of a nightmare. I know, shocker! Has anyone ever heard a good house-selling story? “Everything went like clockwork! Couldn’t have been easier!” I certainly haven’t, so I’m aware that we’re not in the minority here. However, in an unwelcome and dramatic fashion, ours involved a betrayal, a terminal diagnosis for a beloved pet, and a crumbling of the majority of the hope I had for our habitational future (totally just made that word up). I may have tumbled back into the abyss of my sofa in a bit of a depression.
Despite the fact that our house has still not sold, I am slowly but surely pulling myself up by my bootstraps (speaking of boots… ) and getting motivated to get back to the drawing board—literally and figuratively. I still plan to post about fashion and what I’m wearing (who doesn’t love an outfit post) but I also am getting the itch to get back into the studio and make some art to share with you guys! I’ve been bullet journaling a lot so I definitely want to post about that, but I also want to start making fine art on a regular basis. And guess what? You get to be my accountability partners!
Ok, so now that we’ve gotten that housekeeping out of the way, let’s get to the good stuff. The last time I posted was, eeek, July, so we’ve obviously had some changes in the weather in the mean time. Since most of my winter wardrobe is still in storage, I’m really missing my boots and sweaters! Some of the stuff I’ve kept in my closet can transition to the season, but sandals and sundresses do not a winter wardrobe make. I’ve been seriously coveting some good boots, especially booties, and a warm sweater or two. Hence this lovely little roundup. I also couldn’t resist adding in some earrings for pizazz. I’m a sucker for some statement jewelry.
