What I Wore Last week
My foot is feeling a lot better this week. I was even able to handle a bit of a heel on Sunday! I have nothing against flats—I have many in my shoe wardrobe—I just like to have some variety. That’s why I’ve been keeping my hair long for the last several years. I always get excited about cutting it short, but once I’ve done it I realize I now have few options in how to wear it. And there’s nothing I love more than options.
I am thinking of cutting off a bit of it though. It’s halfway down my back right now. It hasn’t been this long since I was in middle school. I could make doll wigs daily with the amount of hair I shed. It’s just getting to be a hassle, and with my 40th birthday on the horizon, I’m craving something with a definite style. Maybe some bangs. I don’t want to have to work hard though. With as much as I love fashion, you would think I would be equally good at hair, but sadly, that’s not true. It’s mostly because I don’t have the patience for it.
Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to create a capsule in the wild, if you will. A good friend of mine is starting a new job and needed a new work wardrobe (since she’s somehow managed to make it through her whole career without having to look professional). I met her at Lane Bryant and proceeded to pull things off the rack and bombard her in the dressing room until we had a complete mix and matchable wardrobe! We hit a couple of other stores for shoes and a bag and voila. It was so much fun! She texted me today that her new boss told her that her stylist had done an amazing job. Nothing like a little validation. ;) I’m going to create a digital version of it so she can have some outfit combinations to keep her on track. I’ll post it on the website shortly. Stay tuned…
